Intorducing The Supersonic Cup - a community esports tournament with a $650 cash prize

SPACEJUMP is proud to announce the launch of The Supersonic Cup, a community Rocket League tournament that promises to be an exciting event for both players and spectators alike. Sponsored by The City of Perth, the event is the first of its kind in WA and will take place on Sunday 18th June 2023 at The Rechabite in Northbridge.

The Supersonic Cup will feature a $500 AUD cash prize for first place and $150 for second place, with teams competing in an online open qualifier to progress to the main event at The Rechabite. The tournament is about more than just the competition – it's also a chance for players and gaming fans to come together and enjoy a day of live entertainment, community stalls, and a variety of gaming-themed activities.

"We're grateful for the support of the City of Perth in bringing this event to life. Esports is an up-and-coming industry and with the right support, it has the potential to be a major economic and tourism driver for Western Australia." said Alyssia Boyer, Managing Director of SPACEJUMP. "The Supersonic Cup is an opportunity to showcase the best Rocket League players in Perth, while also providing a fun and engaging experience for everyone who attends. We're confident that the Supersonic Cup will be a memorable event hosted in the heart of Perth." she said.

In addition to the tournament itself, The Supersonic Cup will also feature a number of stalls selling gaming merchandise and other items, as well as a variety of food and drink options on offer at The Rechabite. To keep the crowd engaged and entertained throughout the day, SPACEJUMP has enlisted the MC services of Sevspics, a renowned TikTok influencer known for his energy and enthusiasm as well as Perth’s favourite comedy hypnotist, Matt Hale, and Twitch Streamer Stormie as commentators.

"We're thrilled to have three very talented individuals on board for the event," said Ms Boyer. "They are well-known figures in the Perth community, and we're excited to have them help make The Supersonic Cup an unforgettable experience."

SPACEJUMP has also confirmed three local artists who will delight the Supersonic Cup attendees with on-stage performances in between the tournament matches. These performances, including circus, magic, and music, all have a video game theme and will leave audiences mesmerized by the outstanding local talent we have here in Perth. The acts and artists will be announced in the coming weeks.

As part of SPACEJUMP’s recent partnership announcement, The Supersonic Cup will be utilising a selection of high-quality gaming PCs from Allied Gaming, which are powered by advanced AMD Ryzen™ processors and Radeon™ graphics. This will ensure that players can compete to the highest level with the best equipment in the gaming industry.

Whether you're a seasoned Rocket League player or a fan of gaming culture, The Supersonic Cup is an event you won't want to miss. Tickets are available now with Early Bird ticket prices available until 1 May 2023.
